I remember the very first time I witnessed the miracle of seeing a puppy being born. I was mesmerized. The whole process is sacred to me. Life is a gift to be cherished and guarded. Very quickly I realized; raising puppies is very similar to raising children. The same love care and attention used to raise a child is used to raise a puppy.

Having 6 children of my own I have spent countless hours honing in on parenting skills. With all the passion and energy I have tackled motherhood with, I should have a degree in medicine, accounting, nutrition and psychology. However, I am perfectly happy with the title of mother. My parenting philosophies naturally weave into the fabric of my breeding program. I believe love is the first building block. A child must first know deep down that they are loved. Puppies are the same. In the beginning, when they are in my home, they need to know they are loved. They need a safe space to learn, explore and develop their personalities.

On a personal note, there was a time in my life when I desperately needed to heal and found the companionship of my sweet dog assisted in the healing process. I believe each puppy has the ability to connect with and profoundly help those around them, if their foundation is grounded in love.
